Swachhata Pakhwada started at ICAR-CRIDA
The Government of India launched the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan as a nation-wide campaign from 2014 to clean up the streets, roads and infrastructure of Indian cities, towns, and rural areas. As a part of this mission, Department of Agricultural Research and Education, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare is also intiated to celebrate Swachhta Pakhwada every year.
Accordingly, this year also we are organizing Swachhta Pakhwada from 16 to 31 st December 2025. and the date wise activities suggested under the programme are being carried out at main office, Bhuvan(Hayatnagar Research Farm), Varun(Gunagal Research Farm), CRIDA model village, KVK,Ranga Reddy of ICAR-CRIDA adopted villages
As per the action plan, the Swachhta Pakhwada activities were implemented on 16 th December 2025 with display of banners at main office ICAR-CRIDA and at both the research farms.
Dr V. K. Singh, Director,ICAR-CRIDA administered the Swachhta pledge to staff members of the institute and urged the employees to adopt the swachhta as part of their routine activities and to maintain the premises of the institute clean throughout the year. The staff members and students of IARI Mega University Hyderabad Hub attended the programme.
Dr R.Nagarjuna Kumar, Principal Scientist and Nodal Officer for Swachhta Pakhwada, briefed the employees about the activities being planned during Swachhta Pakhwada from 16-31 December 2025.
During the fortnight, various activities like Swachhta awareness programme, cleanliness, debate competition, planting of trees, quiz competition, awareness on waste management, campaign on cleaning of sewerage & water lines, recycling of waste water, use of vermicompost pits etc., are being planned at main office, Hayatnagar Research Farm (HRF),Gunegal Research Farm (GRF),CRIDA model village, KVK,Ranga Reddy of ICAR- CRIDA adopted villages with an aim of creating awareness about the swachhata in the farming community. During this Swachhta Pakhwada Kisan Diwas (Farmer's Day) also will be celebrated on 23 rd December 2025 in in memory of former Prime Minister Shri Chaudhary Charan Singh, a legendary leader and strong advocate of farmers’ welfare.
