Visit of Agricultural students from Anurag University, Ghatkesar, Hyderabad to KVK-Ranga Reddy


On June 24 and July 1, 2025, two groups of [40+31] agricultural students from Anurag University, Ghatkesar, Hyderabad, visited KVK-Ranga Reddy of the Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture (CRIDA) in Hyderabad to gain practical exposure to agricultural practices and research activities. The objective of the visit was to enhance their understanding of the dryland agricultural sector and its obstacles, as well as the advanced solutions that are being implemented at the KVK.

Both group visits began with a cordial reception from Dr. Chandrakant M. H, Senior Scientist and Head of KVK, accompanied by the KVK staff, who provided an overview of the objectives and the significant contribution they make to agricultural advancement through the mandate of the Farm Science Centres (KVKS). The students were introduced to various ongoing research initiatives, including Organic and Natural Farming, Watershed Management themes, Irrigation Systems, Fodder Cafeteria, Seed Hub Project, and more, all emphasizing the innovative practices carried out by KVK.

The KVK team, which includes Subject Matter Specialists Dr. D. Sudheer (Veterinary Science), Dr. S. Vijaykumar (Agricultural Engineering), Dr. G. Srikrishna (Horticulture), Dr. Gautam V. Chauhan (Agronomy), Dr. S. Dilip (Agricultural Extension), and Shri. P. Ramakrishna (Technical Officer); arranged a guided tour of the KVK-RR facilities for students to explore modern agricultural equipment and technologies, enhancing their understanding of practical applications in rural settings, furthering their learning experience.

During the visit, Anurag University students had the opportunity to engage with experienced professionals and specialists who guided them through various facilities, showcasing ongoing projects in areas such as crop management, soil health, and sustainable practices. At the conclusion, the coordinators expressed their immense gratitude to the KVK staff for their warm hospitality and support in making the visit a valuable learning opportunity for their students besides enriching their educational experiences.
