Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Rangareddy District, ICAR-CRIDA under the NICRA Scheduled Castes Sub-Plan (SCSP), organized a 5-day skill training program on "Appropriate Mechanization Practices for Crop Production" from November 3 to 7, 2025, at the KVK training hall in Hayathnagar.
This training aimed to provide practical knowledge on modern agricultural technologies, farm mechanization, and the latest innovations in crop management to 20 participated farmers, including field officers and rural youth.
The program was coordinated by Dr. S. Vijay Kumar, an SMS (Agricultural Engineering), along with co-coordinators Dr. D. Sudheer (Veterinary Science) and Dr. Gautam Veer Chauhan (Agronomy), and other KVK staff.
Dr. Chandrakant MH, delivered the welcome address, emphasizing the importance of adopting mechanization and technology for small and marginal farmers.
Dr. M. Prabhakar, Principal Scientist (Entomology) PI NICRA at ICAR-CRIDA, in his address, highlighted the role of KVKs in promoting agricultural innovations under various government schemes on appropriate mechanization.
Dr. S. Vijay Kumar explained the training objectives to the participants and outlined the schedule for the next five days; resource persons conducted subsequent sessions, and exposure visits were arranged for the trainees to horticultural and bio-fertilizer units, along with sessions on horticulture, seed processing, farm machinery demonstration, a visit to the Centre of Excellence (Vegetables and Fruits), the dairy technology unit, pest management, and nutrient management.
In the valedictory session, Dr. Chandrakant MH Head KVK distributed certificates to all the participants and gave concluding remarks, appreciating the active participation and enthusiasm of the trainees
