Dr V. Visha Kumari is working as Senior Scientist (Agronomy) at ICAR-Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad, India since 2014. She has research experience of more than 13 years in the field of abiotic stress management in field crops, nanofertilizers for nutrient management, and development of climate resilient cropping systems particularly for rainfed areas of semiarid India. Her extensive studies have resulted in identification of climate resilient fodder based cropping systems for rainfed areas, modules for abiotic stress management in field crops and technologies for organic production of field crops. The recommendations emerged out of her research bridged critical knowledge gaps in these areas, and found wide acceptability in rainfed areas. Her work on fodder based cropping system for rainfed region of the Alfisols is recently accepted by ICAR as an innovative technology too. Further, she has published the research results in journals of international repute. Her contributions have been recognized nationally and is recipient of several awards including Mosaic Foundation best women researcher award, MACOSA 81 award, RATAN TATA fellowship etc.
