ICAR–CRIDA joined the nation in launching the commemoration of 150 years of Vande Mataram


On 7 November 2025 The ICAR–Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture (ICAR–CRIDA), Hyderabad, joined the nation in launching the commemoration of 150 years of Vande Mataram — the iconic national song that ignited India’s freedom struggle and continues to inspire patriotism among citizens. On this occasion, the staff members of ICAR–CRIDA paid homage to Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, the author of Vande Mataram, and reaffirmed their commitment to uphold the ideals of unity, integrity, and national pride.

As a part of commemoration of 150 years of Vande Mataram, ICAR-Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture (CRIDA), Hyderabad organized a mass singing of ‘Vande Mataram.

During the programme Dr. V.K. Singh, Director, ICAR-CRIDA, briefed about the history of ‘Vande Mataram’ and the importance of this anthem. Dr. VK singh emphasized that the celebration not only pays tribute to Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay’s immortal creation but also underscores its pivotal role in awakening patriotic fervour during India’s freedom struggle.

The event featured a mass singing of “Vande Mataram”, followed by the live telecast of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s address, wherein he emphasized that the timeless song continues to inspire the nation’s vision of a confident, self-reliant, and resurgent Viksit Bharat 2047.

All the staff of CRIDA and students of IARI-Mega University Hyderabad hub were participated in the mass singing programme of ‘Vande Mataram’ and also attended the live inaugural programme of ‘Vande Mataram’ addressed by Prime Minister of India.

The celebration reflected a strong spirit of patriotism and unity, honouring the song that embodies India’s pride, reverence, and national identity.
