ICAR-CRIDA organized Save the Field Campaign 2026 (खेत_बचाओ_अभियान ) at Narelpally village, Balanagar mandal in Mahabubnagar district of Telangana state


ICAR- Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture organizing Save the Field Campaign 2026 (खेत_बचाओ_अभियान ) in response to the call from the Government of India and Indian Council of Agriculture (ICAR), to promote balanced fertilizer use, soil health conservation, and natural farming among farmers.

Under this programme ICAR-CRIDA, Hyderabad organized an awareness campaign on Balanced Fertilization use and Soil Health Management on 29 June 2026 in Narelpally village of Balanagar mandal in Mahabubnagar district of Telangana state

Initially, Dr G. Nirmala, Principal Scientist (Agril. Extension), briefed on the background of the programme, and emphasised the importance of judicious application of fertilisers to sustain yields and improve soil health.

This was followed by a method demonstration of seed treatment with Phosphorus Solubilising Bacteria (PSB) to improve phosphorus availability in the soil by Dr Salini K, Senior Scientist (Plant Breeding) and Dr Sarath Chandran M.A., Senior Scientist (Agril. Meteorology).

Later, one of the farmers was encouraged to demonstrate the seed treatment of PSB and explain it to the fellow farmers.

A total of 30 farmers including 11 women participated in the awareness programme,
