ICAR-Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture (ICAR-CRIDA), Hyderabad celebrated World Environment Day 2026 by organizing the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” plantation programme under Mission LiFE at CRIDA main campus on 5th June 2026.

The plantation drive was conducted with the objective of promoting environmental conservation, increasing green cover, and encouraging sustainable lifestyles among the staff and the community.

Dr. V. K. Singh, Director, ICAR-CRIDA, along with staff planted saplings as part of the nationwide campaign aimed at promoting environmental conservation and sustainable living.

Dr. V. K. Singh emphasized the importance of individual responsibility in protecting the environment and highlighted the significance of the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, which encourages every citizen to plant and nurture a tree in honor of their mother.

The programme also reinforced the objectives of Mission LiFE, which advocates environmentally conscious behavior and sustainable practices in daily life.

The programme concluded with a collective resolve to promote greenery and environmental awareness through continued plantation and conservation activities
