ICAR-CRIDA Organised Awareness Programme on Soil Health Management and Balanced Fertilizer use under the Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav programme in Peddapur village of Sadashivpet Mandal of Sanga Reddy District on 25-5-2026


ICAR-CRIDA, Hyderabad organised awareness campaign on soil health management and balanced use of fertilizer under the Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav Programme in Peddapur village. Sadashivpet Mandal of Sanga Reddy district of Telangana state on 25-5-2026.

The programme was organized under the Intensive Campaign on Balanced Use of Fertilizers initiated by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi.

The programme created awareness among farmers about importance of balanced fertilizer application, soil test-based nutrient management, crop diversification, soil health management, efficient utilization of crop residues, and water conservation measures.

Farmers were also sensitized about the role of biofertilizers in sustainable agriculture, followed by a practical demonstration on seed treatment techniques.

They cautioned farmers against the excessive use of urea, noting its adverse effects on soil health, crop productivity, and input costs.

The programme was attended by village representatives including Sarpanch Mr. Balaraj Goud and Upasarpanch Mr. Sandeep Kumar Goud.

A total of 46 farmers participated in the programme, including 21 male and 25 female farmers.
