ICAR-Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad, organized a “Kisan Mela and Scientist-Extension-Farmer Interface Meeting” on 25th July, 2026 under Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP). The programme was held at Maleboregaon Village, Adilabad (Rural) Mandal, Adilabad District, Telangana.

Initially Dr. Anshida Beevi C.N., Senior Scientist (Agricultural Extension) and Nodal Officer, TSP briefed about the programme and various interventions made under TSP. Dr. V. K. Singh, Director, ICAR-CRIDA and Chief Guest of the programme, stressed on the effect of El-Nino and the preparedness measures

Dr. P. K. Pankaj, Principal Scientist (Livestock Production and Management) briefed about livestock interventions for improving livestock productivity and Dr. JVNS Prasad, Project Coordinator, All India Coordinated Research Project for Dryland Agriculture (AICRPDA) highlighted natural resource management and climate resilient technologies.

Dr. B. Sanjeeva Reddy, Principal Scientist (Farm Power and Machinary) briefed about farm mechanization in dryland agriculture, Dr. G. Nirmala, Principal Scientist (Agricultural Extension) about various agricultural schemes, Dr. S. Kundu, Senior Scientist (Agronomy) explained about the cropping system interventions,

Dr. A.K. Indoria, Senior Scientist (Soil Science) about soil health management, Dr. N. Manikandan, Senior Scientist (Agricultural Meteorology) briefed about the El-Nino and strategies for coping its effects, Dr. B. Bhargavi, Scientist (Agronomy) explained about crop diversification, integrated farming and Dr. Tridiv Ghosh, Scientist (Agricultural Physics) explained about contingency measures for Adilabad district.

The programme was also attended by Dr. Rajashekhar from ,Agriculture Research Station (ARS), Adilabad and Dr. Mohan Das from AICRPDA Voluntary Centre, Adilabad. Scientist-Extension-Farmer Interface meeting was also held as part of the programme, where farmers interacted with the scientists on various issues such as water management, agronomic practices etc.

During the Mela, inputs such as manual weeder, zinc sulphate, vermibed unit and biofertilizers were distributed to the farmers. As part of Kisan Mela, an exhibition was also organized where CRIDA technologies such as BBF Planter, Weeder, Biofertilizer etc. were displayed.

Dr. V. K. Singh, Director, ICAR-CRIDA inaugurated the exhibitions stalls. As part of the exhibition, a lady entrepreneur from Adilabad Mrs. Leelavathi showcased value added products from different commodities. About 46 women farmers and 234 men farmers from the TSP adopted villages representing four Mandals participated in the programme.
