ICAR-CRIDA,KVK organized Khet Bachao Abhiyan” campaign at Mallareddyguda Village, Shabad Mandal, Ranga Reddy District, on 03 June 2026 as part of the Awareness Programme on Balanced Use of Fertilizers (BUF) to promote balanced fertilizer use, improve soil health, and encourage sustainable agricultural practices.
Dr. Anju Basera, Director In-charge, Regional Fodder Station, Hyderabad, attended the programme as Chief Guest. She highlighted the importance of soil test-based fertilizer application, Integrated Nutrient Management (INM), and eco-friendly farming practices for improving soil fertility and crop productivity.
The programme was graced by Ms. Sabitha Goverhan, Sarpanch, Mallareddyguda Village. A total of 38 farmers participated in the programme.
Dr. D. Sudheer Kumar, SMS (Veterinary Science) and Team Leader, Khet Bachao Abhiyan, explained the objectives of the campaign and delivered technical guidance on modern dairy farming practices, and digital tools for livestock management.
Dr. Dilip S., SMS (Agricultural Extension), created awareness on government schemes such as Micro Irrigation, PMFBY, and Seed Hub programmes,
Shri P. Rama Krishna, Technical Officer, explained the importance of the Seed Hub Programme in Redgram, quality seed production, and the adoption of high-yielding varieties.
