As part of the nationwide “Khet Bachao Abhiyan” (Save the Farm Campaign), Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Ranga Reddy, ICAR–CRIDA, Hyderabad, organized an awareness programme on Balanced Use of Fertilizers (BUF) at Laxmarao Guda Village, Shabad Mandal, Ranga Reddy District on 04 June 2026. The programme aimed to promote balanced fertilizer use, improve soil health, and encourage sustainable agricultural practices among farmers.
The programme was started by Dr. Chandrakant M.H., Head, KVK Ranga Reddy, who emphasized the importance of soil test-based fertilizer application, Integrated Nutrient Management (INM).
Dr. Shri S. Srikanth, Senior Technical Assistant, Directorate of Oilseeds Development, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Telhan Bhavan, Hyderabad, attended the programme and highlighted the significance of soil test-based nutrient management and balanced fertilizer application for improving soil fertility and crop productivity
The programme was graced by Shri Kriti Krishna, Regional Horticultural Officer, who interacted with farmers and shared valuable information on sustainable horticulture, dairy-based farming systems, and integrated farming approaches.
Shri Kumar, Sarpanch, Laxmarao Guda Village, also participated in the programme and encouraged farmers to adopt improved agricultural practices.
Dr. G. Srikrishna, SMS (Horticulture) and Team Leader, Khet Bachao Abhiyan, explained the objectives of the campaign and encouraged farmers to adopt natural farming practices in vegetable and horticultural crops for producing safe and quality food while improving soil health.
Dr. Dilip S., SMS (Agricultural Extension), created awareness on government schemes such as Micro Irrigation, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), and Seed Hub Programmes.
