Awareness Session on Balanced Nutrient Management conducted by ICAR-CRIDA, KVK on 26–27 May 2026


Awareness Session on the balanced use of fertilizers were conducted for TRIBES participant farmers under the NABARD initiative on May 26, 2026, and SERP Tamil Nadu farmers on May 27, 2026, during their visits to KVK Ranga Reddy, ICAR-CRIDA.

Dr. Chandrakant M. H., Head of KVK Ranga Reddy, emphasized the importance of soil test-based and judicious fertilizer application for improving soil health and crop productivity, while Subject Matter Specialists Dr. S. Vijaya Kumar (Agricultural Engineering),

Mr. G. Srikrishna (Horticulture), Dr. P. Himabindu (Plant Protection) and Shri P. Ramakrishna, Technical Officer, briefed the farmers on improved farm mechanization, water management, horticultural practices, plant protection and the Seed Hub project for enhancing productivity and sustainability in drylands.

The KVK team highlighted the role of balanced nutrient application and integrated nutrient management in enhancing yields, reducing pest and disease incidence, and improving soil health and livestock well-being, while also stressing the importance of extension personnel in promoting sustainable soil test-based agricultural practices.

A total of 25 TRIBES participants and 31 SERP farmers, along with their coordinators, attended the respective programs.
