Training cum Exposure visit of Accion Fraterna Ecology Centre (AFEC) officials on “Rainfed Farming, Climate Adaptation and Agricultural Resilience” at ICAR-CRIDA, Hyderabad during February 19-20, 2026


A Training cum Exposure visit of officials of Accion Fraterna Ecology Centre (AFEC), an NGO in Anantapuramu, Andhra Pradesh on “Rainfed Farming, Climate Adaptation and Agricultural Resilience” was held at ICAR-CRIDA, Hyderabad during February 19-20, 2026. Fifteen officials participated in the training which was sponsored by AFEC, Anantapuramu, and organized by Transfer of Technology (TOT) Section, ICAR-CRIDA.

The main objectives of the training was to familiarize the participants with concepts of rainfed farming and climate resilient agriculture; and to expose the participants about water harvesting structures, farm mechanization, livestock production and management in rainfed areas through field visits.

The participants were exposed to different theory lectures on Crops and cropping systems in rainfed areas, Climate Resilient Agriculture and Adaptation: Experiences of NICRA TDC Project, Soil and Water conservation in Rainfed areas, Pest Management in Groundnut, Livestock Production and Management in Rainfed Areas.

A field visit to Bhuvan Research Farm of CRIDA was arranged on February 19, 2026 where the participants were exposed to Water harvesting structures, Farm machinery workshop, Urban Cafeteria, Livestock farm and fodder cafeteria etc.

The valedictory session of the training was held on February 20, 2026 in which the participants expressed satisfaction over new knowledge, skills and field insights learned in the training. The training was coordinated by Dr. K. Ravi Shankar, Dr. K. Nagasree and Dr. Anshida Beevi, C.N. of TOT Section, ICAR-CRIDA, Hyderabad.
