On 23rd December, 2023 (Saturday), a Kisan Mela/Diwas was organized at Malkapur village, Gudi Athnoor Mandal, Adilabad district, Telangana in gracious presence of Dr.Vinod Kumar Singh, Director, ICAR-CRIDA and Scientists from ICAR-CRIDA, Hyderabad. A total of more than 250 farmers participated in the mega event including sarpanch and upsarpanch of the cluster of villages where TSP project is running. During the Krishi mela, the Scientists of ICAR-CRIDA educated the farmers about good management practices in poultry farming.

Dr. Vinod Kumar Singh, Director, ICAR-CRIDA in his address stressed the need of soil-plant-animal health continuum. The farmers were appraised about the importance of Farmer’s day and the contribution made by Shri Chaudhary Charan Singh, former Prime Minister of India for the benefit of farming community.

He also asked the farmers to take maximum benefit from the visiting ICAR-CRIDA scientists. He also stressed the need of keeping their house, surroundings neat and clean. In view of high mortality in chicks due to prevailing cold/ low temperature during day and night, ICAR-CRIDA scientists suggested to reduce the mortality by providing night shelter, bamboo baskets, hover with bulbs.Later these support systems of backyard poultry were handed over by Director, ICAR-CRIDA to 40 eligible poultry rearing farmers/beneficiaries.The village Sarpanchs also expressed their gratitude to ICAR-CRIDA for implementing TSP in 9 villages of Adilabad distict. The meeting ended with vote of thanks by Dr. Manoranjan Kumar, Nodal Officer, TSP.
