Training Programme on “Emerging technologies in agricultural mechanization and development of entrepreneurship skill to enhance the income” organised under SC Sub Plan


A five-day training programme was organised for the farmers on “Emerging Technologies in Agricultural Mechanization and Development of Entrepreneurship Skill to Enhance the Income” during 11-15th Dec 2023 at ICAR-CRIDA, Santoshnagar, Hyderabad under SC Sub Plan.


The training programme was inaugurated on 11th Dec 2023 by Chief Guest Dr. S. K. Bal, I/c Director, ICAR-CRIDA, Hyderabad. In his inaugural speech, Dr. S. K. Bal highlighted the importance of mechanization and entrepreneur skill development. The training covered various aspects including mechanization, drudgery-reducing farm implements, repair and maintenance of equipment, drone application in agriculture, crop management, value addition in crops, millet awareness, rainwater management, crop diversification for enhancing income, kitchen gardening, horticulture and role of livestock for improving livelihood security. The training program was coordinated by a team of CRIDA scientists consisting of Er. Dhimate Ashish, Drs. V Maruthi, P. K Pankaj, Savitha Santosh and Suvana Sukumaran.


The valedictory session of the training programme was held on 15th Dec 2023. Dr. K Sredevi Shankar, Co-Nodal Officer, SCSP welcomed all the participants, and Er. Ashish Dhimate, Training coordinator presented a brief report of the training programme. Dr. S.K Bal, I/c Director, ICAR-CRIDA who is the Chief Guest for the valedictory session urged the farmers for implementing the acquired knowledge into the field and also disseminate it to the neighbouring farmers. Later, the chief guest distributed the certificates and vegetable kit to the participants. Twenty SC farmers from Mallampet village, Kondampet Village, Kotapally Mandal of Mancherial Districts participated in this training programme.
