Distribution of chicks and group/society formation along with monitoring of interventions of Chincholi Taluka, Kalaburagi district, Karnataka under SC Sub plan


A team of scientists visited Chincholi Taluka, Kalaburagi district, Karnataka under SC Sub plan to explain the farmers about the benefits of backyard poultry and farmer’s interest group. A village meeting was organised at Chindanaur village wherein about 60 farmers participated. Dr. P.K Pankaj Principal Scientist (LMP) spoke about the backyard poultry and its benefits. He also explained the farmers about the techniques to take care on chicks. Later on, Dr. Jagriti Rohit, Scientist (Agril. Extn.) discussed about the benefits of society and group formations. It was also discussed to form on self-help group for women wherein training will be provided on different livelihood generating activities. Dr. R Rejani PS (SWCE) discussed about harvesting rainwater. Dr R Adake PS (FMP) took feedback of farmers on our previous interventions. Then, one day old chicks were distributed to the farmers in the villages. The activities were carried out by team of scientists consisting of Dr R Adake PS (FMP), Dr. P.K Pankaj Principal Scientist (LMP), Dr. R Rejani PS (SWCE) and Dr. Jagriti Rohit, Scientist (Agril. Extn.)
