Concluded 10 Days ICAR sponsored HRM Training Programme on “Big Data Analysis for Weather-based Crop Management” at ICAR-CRIDA

ICAR-CRIDA organized 10 days Training Programme on “Big Data Analysis for Weather based Crop Management” during 29th January to 07th February, 2024 for the technical staff. The programme was sponsored by HRM Unit of ICAR. Dr. G. Venkateshwarulu, Joint Director, ICAR-NAARM was the chief guest of the inaugural session and he emphasized the importance of digital agriculture. In the inaugural programme, Dr. V.K. Singh, Director, ICAR-CRIDA highlighted the importance of big data analytics in agriculture. .

The training was attended by 16 participants from seven ICAR institutes. The training included lectures, hands-on sessions, field visits covering various topics such as digital agriculture and big data analysis, data handling and data visualization using Excel, agrometeorology application for crop management, Power BI report generation from Excel, demonstration of drone, data analytic techniques for crop management, crop-weather-pest DSS, phenotyping and genotyping of genetic resources data generation, QGIS, mapping district level area and production using GIS, IoT in agricultural and its use cases, data visualization using R, generative AI etc. . Mr. Neil Gogte has emphasized on the recent advancements in artificial intelligence and its role in agriculture sector. During the valedictory session, Dr. V. K. Singh, Director, ICAR-CRIDA highlighted the importance of big data analysis in agriculture. He stressed the participants to use the knowledge acquired during the training programme in their respective domains.. Participants gave feedback about 10 days training programme. . Dr.N.Ravi Kumar Principal Scientist and Course director presented the overall report about the Taning programme conducted.Later, the chief guest and the guest of honour distributed the certificates to the participants and coordinators. .
